We are a volunteer and sponsor-supported program in the Lower Nicola Valley, British Columbia to provide training and opportunities to young people interested in working with horses.
Phil Dumont describes the program and how it was started.
Here are some of the goals of the program.
Our Mission
We work with young people who want to learn how to train horses and learn many horse skills.
The goal is to build connections between the horse, rider, heritage, and community.
The Program
We currently have around sixteen young women and sixteen horses in the program. We are looking to expand the program and have young men get involved.
Plans
Here are a few of the developments in progress:
-
A covered arena.
-
A multi-use trail for pedestrians, cyclists, and riders.
